Knee injuries / pain is a common issue in adults, children as well as athletes and can be caused by a number of different factors including degeneration, overuse and trauma. If knee pain / injury is limiting your daily activities, walking or sports participation it’s important to seek proper diagnosis, management and rehabilitation.
It’s important to establish a clear diagnosis of knee pain through a physiotherapy assessment in order to begin a personalised management plan which includes management of pain and swelling, restoration movement and strength as well as return to normal activities and sports.
Common Causes of Knee Pain:
- Knee osteoarthritis
- Patellofemoral Joint Pain
- Ilio-tibial band (ITB) syndrome
- Bursitis

- Anterior / Posterior cruciate ligament (ACL / PCL) tears
- Meniscal tears
- Medial and lateral ligament sprains
